Thank you to everyone who attended our March General Membership meeting. If Margaret Mitchel had attended, she would have won the $500 prize. We also collected over $400 during the raffle to benefit the MSAR Scholarship. Lana Costeines won FREE admission for her and a guest to our Summer Happy Hour, just by making a donation to RPAC.

Don Klepper-Smith gave an interesting and thought-provoking presentation on the current and future status of the Connecticut economy. His key points were:

• 2008 will be the most challenging economic environment due to a recession that began in late 2007. However, due to current politics, don't look for an announcement of that recession anytime soon.

• The Connecticut economy will continue to outperform the national economy in 2008.

• The status of the economy boils down to one word: CONFIDENCE: consumer, investor and business confidence will be the key. As Mr. Klepper-Smith's grandmother used to say, "When the going gets tough, the tough goes shopping."
