Town
of Old Saybrook, CT Important Re-valuation Information In
response to Governor Rell's signage of S.B. 997, which allows municipalities to
delay implementation of revaluations, a list was compiled by the Old Saybrook
Assessor's office. The information is being published in an effort to clarify
and inform taxpayers about the difference in taxes due based on the 2008 Grand
List versus the 2007 revised Grand List by using anticipated mill rates. Approximately
50% will pay less taxes with the new reval.

First
Time Homebuyer Tax Credit
The
homebuyer tax credit is one of 10 key provisions of the American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act signed into
law by President Obama
on February 17, 2009. The bill provides for an $8,000 tax credit that would be
available to first-time home buyers for the purchase of a principal residence
on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009. The credit does not require
repayment. Most of the mechanics of the credit will be the same as under the 2008
rules: the credit will be claimed on a tax return to reduce the purchaser's income
tax liability. If any credit amount remains unused, then the unused amount will
be refunded as a check to the purchaser.

OFFER: ATTENTION BROKERS/MANAGERS Effective
immediately Midd-Shore with the cooperation of GE Supra will be providing electronic
lock boxes to each office at no charge. In order to be eligible to participate
in the program the Broker/Manager of your office must sign an agreement. The agreement
basically says that the Broker/Manager will promote the electronic lock box system
within the office. Brokers/Managers are ultimately responsible for the safekeeping
and return of all equipment, however the boxes can be assigned to an individual
agent. Please keep in mind that lock boxes can only be issued to electronic key
holders so each agent that a box will be assigned to must hold an electronic key.
The amount of boxes issued to each office or agent cannot exceed their listing
inventory. In the event that more boxes are required simply call the Association
office to order more. An order form can be downloaded from the link below for
your convenience. There are two methods of delivery: pick up the boxes at the
Midd-Shore office or we can ship them. Keep in mind that the boxes can be heavy
and recipients will be charged an additional fee for shipping and handling. We
hope that your office will promote and participate in this new exciting program.

MARKETING TOOL FOR BROKERS
The
Connecticut Statewide MLS will begin offering ListHub to our Participant Brokers
at no additional cost, allowing you to syndicate your listings to some of the
best real estate search sites on the web - for free! Using ListHub, Connecticut
Statewide MLS brokers can automatically send, control, and update their listings
directly from the MLS to many real estate websites including the following:

is no action required on your part to take advantage of the new marketing benefit.
As a default, all of your active listing inventory will be distributed to all
websites listed above. If you do not wish to send listings to one or more of the
websites, simply go to www.ListHub.net
and click on "Create Account". You will set your own login and password.
Behind the scenes, you will be verified as a CTMLS Broker. Once you set up your
account, click on "Channels" to pick the real estate websites you would
like to unsubscribe from. When a consumer finds your listing on one of these Web
sites, and they click through for more information, they are directed to the Statewide
MLS Public Web site www.CTREAL.com.
All leads are passed directly to the brokerage or listing agent (depending on
choice made by the consumer to email the agent or click on the web link). The
basic ListHub service that lets you choose which websites to automatically send
your listings to is free of charge to Connecticut Statewide Participants. No credit
